The judges’ score sheets will be provided to the contestants at the end of the contest. These score sheets, plus any critiques, comments, etc., from the judges, are the judges’ own opinions and are intended to help aspiring authors improve their skills by pinpointing problem areas, or highlighting strengths. Authors should never allow the opinions of others to sway them from their true love – writing the story they want to tell!
WAIVER
I have read all the rules of the Launching A Star Contest, sponsored by the SpacecoasT Authors of Romance, and agree to abide by all of them. I further understand that the judges’ scores are based on their own opinions and I will accept their decisions and conclusions as they pertain to this contest. I understand and accept that story ideas and titles cannot be copyrighted. I agree that I indemnify and hold harmless SpacecoasT Authors of Romance, its officers, personnel, members and judges in any dispute arising from my participation in this contest. I also verify that the enclosed is my own unpublished work, and that I have not received $1000 or more, either as an advance or in actual earnings, for any single work of fiction within the last five years.

An email with LAUNCHING A STAR CONTEST on the subject line to contest@authorsofromance.com with the following attachments:
- A completed application form
- An MS Word compatible file (.doc or .rtf) of up to the first 25 pages of your manuscript
- A copy of your PayPal receipt (may be emailed separately if necessary)
- If paying by check or money order, it must be in US Dollars and sent to Launching a Star Contest, STAR, PO Box 410787, Melbourne, FL 32941-0787. Your entry will not be considered complete until we’ve received your Paypal payment, check or money order.
